I created the Lunar Series as an experiment in artistic styles and techniques in painting a common theme: the full moon. Everyone on earth sees it, but we all see it differently for different cultural, geographic, and personal reasons. The moons in this series range from the very abstract and somewhat intellectualized "Perigee," to the quite simple and almost representational "Cold Moon," to the more literal "Wolf Moon" with its iridescent silver outer fur coat. They range likewise from the very over-painted and highly varnished, almost cloisonné effect of "Perigee," to the textural "Wolf Moon" and "Blood Moon," to the charcoal-pencil-sketch look and feel of "Cold Moon."
